Can G2G Peptide + Biotin Scalp Serum be layered with other hair care or scalp products?Updated 2 years ago

Technically any actives would work their best on a clean scalp because they work under layers of the skin and need clearance. Many hair products (not scalp products) can contain alcohol and emollients that may add layers of blockage against absorption–That's why we say to use the hair serum on a clean scalp and wash out any products (gels, hairsprays, leave-in conditioners, etc) before application. Those who don't use hair products, and don't wash their hair everyday, can use it daily if their hair is clean (no dirt, sand, beach chlorine, etc.). When we say clean scalp, it means free of dirt and products.

For any other “scalp products”, there should be a “dry time” consideration for the ingredients to soak into the skin. Layering is okay for scalp products as long as the “thickest” viscosity product (like oils) is used last. Just like skin care for the face.. the correct layering of face serums/creams has steps:

  1. Liquids like toner (use 1st)
  2. Serums & essence next
  3. Then thicker hydrators & moisturizers
  4. Finally, SPF.

We usually apply and pat in the products one layer at a time then let it soak in– same goes for your scalp treatments. Drying time may be approx. 2 to 3 minutes.

Note: It is advisable when trying a brand new product to first patch test, and to stop use of other products for at least 3 months while you trial the product for best results. Keep in mind our G2G scalp serum should not be washed off once applied, so any products that require you to wash them off should be used first.
